BitterSweet - Something A Little Different...

Hi folks,

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend. I'm spending it with the hubby, kids and not forgetting the Atlas, our American Bulldog fur baby just trying to relax and get over yet another hectic week, oh the joys but I wont depress you with all of that lot.

I've had a few crafty ideas that i've been playing about with when i've had chance... cards mainly as Abigail-Megan (my eldest daughter) has been taking over the sewing machine, probably for the best seeing as my wrist is still splinted. She's been doing alsorts on there and loving every minute, its so nice to see that the kids all enjoy being creative too especially being that I cant always get out and about and do things too strenuous with them. Anyways back to what I was on about... Abz had spent some time making denim and canvas bags whilst I was struggling to come up with an idea for the image of the week that was given to us over at The Stamping Chef fan page on facebook by the very generous Tamara, it got to a point of driving me batty, I was completely stumped but then the lightbulb in my head shattered as I was sat staring into space surrounded by fabric cutoffs, bits of thread, already done bags and Abigail calling Mummy every couple of minutes... Here's the final result...

I printed the gorgeous Bitter Sweet image onto T-shirt transfer paper and coloured with my Spectrum Noirs and Promarkers, added pink gems to the image by the 'pink and grey swirly things' (not exactly sure what theyre actually meant to be but swirly things sounds good lol) , stitched a small piece of bright pink organza to the where the veil is drawn and finished with a tiny pink satin ribbon. The phrase is written on with S.N's, I was going to print it on the transfer paper and add it that way but after it took me ages to pick the tiny bits of interleave off the image cos the damned thing had no intentions of coming off in one piece like it was supposed to I gave up and kinda cheated a little. Im actually really liking this piece and am happy with the way it turned out, especially for a first attempt. I may even get to use it myself... if I can prise it away from my girls.

Im now away to order some more transfer paper (i'm under order haha) and play some more whilst I wait on  Paige-Rheannan and Billyboo getting home from Liverpool. Suppose I should also prepare dinner at some point too - unless I can persuade the hubby to cook it for me, there's something sexy about a man in the kitchen ;)

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in another of my crafty moments.

Have a great day/evening wherever you are.
Love and hugs

Dream, Wish, Sparkle...

Quick card made using the beautiful 'Lost Fairy' image from over at The Stamping Chef.

Please excuse quality of pics and the dodgy cutting etc, i was using one hand, my left wrist and arm is acting up after a blumin fall so I currently have a splint and sling on.

I think this ones pretty self explainatry but the size is A5, coloured with Spectrum Noirs, Promarkers and Stickles and embossing of words and on wings are done in silver Heat It Up. I'll no doubt play with her a bit more when I have by wrist back cos I dont feel like i've done her justice although im sure my eldest daughter will love her , her fave colour is purple and she adores faeries.

Take care

Get Well Wishes

Just a quickie post today as im not really in the mood for talking/typing but I have been wanting to post this card for the past wee while and as im trying to keep my mind occuppied from things going on right now in 'real-life', nows as best time as ever...

A little while ago my nan had a terrible fall which left her pretty messed up and requiring hospital treatment, stitches and all sorts of scans and further treatment since, but she's been really strong throughout and as I live many miles away getting to see her in person is a little difficult so I wanted to let her know that although we cant be there in person we are still always thinking about her, so I made her a card...

I also made her a phone charm with a cross and angel wings and sent that in with her card, but trying to get a decent photograph of that proved beyond my capabilty, darned blasted thing but never mind.
Anyways my nan loved it, she even cried when she received it bless her. And then when she called to say it had arrived and that she was very grateful for the thoughts and prayers she asked 'where I had bought it from', maybe the fact that i had stamped my logo onto the back confused her a little, either that or the bang to the head sent her off a bit haha...  Obviously I took it as a wonderful compliment and was touched by how much she loved it, and even though I would definitely prefer to have been there in person with her she knew how much we were thinking of her and hoping for a speedy recovery.
My family mean so much to me and although I speak to them regularly I dont half miss them. So if any of them happen to stop by here and read this I just want to tell you all that I love you all millions and you're never more than a thought away.

I know I said it would not be a long post but whilst i'm here i'd just like to mention what an awesome candy Donna over at Bearly Mine Craft is giving away at the moment, theres so much stuff there that it will certainly make somebody a very happy crafter

I really, really, really am hoping it'll be me, I have my legs and toes crossed and if it didnt make it so hard to type i'd have my fingers and eyes crossed too. And then to top that amazing giveaway off she's also got a brand new Epsom printer to giveaway to a lucky crafter in the UK

OOOOOOoooooo now thats some amazing blog candy and if you're quick you can get a chance to put your name in the hat too, as it ends on the 30th November.

Right i'm definitely shifting my backside now as i've just had a phone call with some news I really wanted not to have to hear and its left me with 4 rather disappointed kiddie winkles and they need their mummy so I wish you all a wonderful evening and i'll see you soon.

Love and hugs

A Rather 'Sassy' Birthday Wish...

Before I get to my card for this evening I would like to wish my amazing hubby a very Happy Birthday, Love you with all my heart my Sexii Skittle.

Anyways its in honour of Roberts birthday that im posting this card...

Earlier this week I posted that I was stuck for ideas as to what design I wanted to make for my husbands birthday card, stuck was an understatement to be honest... well that was until I went wandering around blogdom and almost fell off my chair when I got to Sassy Studio Designs, one of my favourite places for digital images. They were having a blog hop to celebrate 800 members on PCP with a freebie image that sorta slapped me right in the face and I knew immediately it was the one I would use, so I printed it off and sat colouring, still lost for what else I would do (typical of me to leave things to the last minute!) days passed and still nothing until yesterday came with a sketch from yet again Sassy Studios...

Although I have slighty changed the main shape of the sketch, from an oval to rectangular image  I think I have kept pretty much to it and it seemed like a plan to go the whole hog and get completely sassy.
Ok yeah I know, it doesnt look very sassy does it and other than the wee crown above the sentiment there isnt an image either... At least not until you open up the card where it gets a tad bit ermmm naughty if you like...

Along with the hop and Lyndsay's awesome drawing came a challenge following the theme of 'Fifty Shades...' to use Miss Shady Sassy in a grey, black and white colour scheme. So thats how this card came about, im loveing it personally and cant wait to see the look on Rob's face when he opens it :)

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges -

SassyStudioDesigns - fifty-shades-of-sassy blog hop
SassyStudioDesigns - dare-to-be-sassy Thursday

Thanks for stopping by,
Have a lovely evening whatever you're doing

Happy Hallowe'en

I'm back from the living dead it would seem... I think :)

So apologies to my blog and anyone who is reading for my disappearing act so soon after starting but as hard as I tried to do more than a few things each day the more my body decided it didn't want to play along, leaving me to have to make more than a few decisions as to which things would take priority, this coming a little further down the list than I could seem to reach but now i'm back, kinda.
I very much doubt that my health issues are going to get any better any time soon and albeit I know that there are going to be times when I cant, Im going to try my darnest to post more frequently than I started.

I have managed to do a little crafting whilst i've been unwell this time round and as I intended my blog as a place to share my creations (along with other random babbling) thats what i'm going to do now...

My little boy, Junior's friend Courtney is celebrating her birthday today and seeing as her party was taking on the theme of todays date I thought this would be a cute idea for a card, I've since been informed by my girls that the pic is 'Frankie' from Monster High or something like that, I try not to pay much attention to the TV when the kids have it on.
The cardstock used were just stuff that I had lying around in my stash, the cobweb in the top corner was drawn on with Stickles, clear gems were placed at the bottom left hand corner to add an extra bit of sparkle and the sentiment was printed onto white card matted on a green offcut from the matt behind 'Frankie' in a font called Halloween Spider that can be downloaded free HERE. I do hope that she likes it.

I'd like to enter this card into the following contests...
The sisterhood of crafters - A halloween challenge
Creative Belli Blog - Challenge 155 (Halloween)
Anything Goes Challenge
Crazy Amigo Challenge - Halloween
Through The Craftroom Door - Challenge 42 Anything goes

Wishing everyone a wicked Hallowe'en and a wonderful evening

Take Care

Anniversary Card

This is a simple card that I made for my sister-in-laws wedding anniversary thats coming up at the beginning of September, that month is definately one of the busiest for birthdays etc in our family so I guess i'm going to be busy over the next couple of weeks.

Black, white and bling

close-up showing the 3d effect of the butterflies

Im not too sure what the product names are that i've used, maybe as I get a bit more used to this blogging lark i'll get better at taking note of things like that but I know for sure that the embossing folder and butterfly die were from Sizzix, all other items and cardstock were from my stash.

I'd like to enter this card into the Friday Mashup challenge for this week - Its a Black Tie Affair which can be found here.

Until later im going to try and get some sleep and hopefully work my way down that list of cards to be made for next month.

Take care

Natasha xx
